DANCE CLASSES

Little Ballet/Tap
(ages 3-5) This class develops basic dance skills used in ballet and tap. Classes often include a warmup across the floor and center combinations.

Dress code:
Girls- pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, pink tights, leotard (any color), skirt is optional, hair in bun
Boys- black ballet shoes, shorts, t-shirt

Studio 2
Instructor: Addy Mumma
Jr. Acro
(ages 6-10) A beginner level class that focuses on combining dance elements with gymnastics skills. The goal of acro is to strengthen the muscles and have students gain flexibility and balance. All these elements are essential to dance. In this class we will work on backbends, forwards and backwards rolls, handstands, chart wheels, and backbend kickovers leading to a foundation for walkovers, aerials, and more complex tricks later.

​Dress code: Leotard with leggings and/or slim fitting athletic shorts and tank top or tee, bare feet.

Little Jazz, Hip Hop & Pom
(ages 3-5) This class develops basic dance skills used in Jazz and Hip Hop as as well as movements and jumps used in cheer dance. Classes often include a warmup across the floor and center combinations.

Jr. Ballet
(ages 6-10) A beginning ballet class that introduces the elements of ballet both on the floor and at the barre building terminology and technique.

(ages 3-5) Learn basic dance moves that are often used in stage shows and musicals. This is a basic intro to dance course.

(ages 6-10) Learn dance skills and technical elements used to cheer squads and dance teams.

Jr. Hip Hop
(ages 6-10) This class focuses on developing rhythm and coordination to the beat of hip hop/pop music. Classes often include a warmup across the floor and center combinations.

Jr. Stage Dance
(ages 6-10) Learn basic dance moves that are often used in stage shows and musicals. This is an excellent course for students who are new to dance and looking for a basic overview of steps they may come across when in a musical.

Jr. Jazz/ Lyrical
(ages 6-10) Classes often consist of a warmup, across the floor combinations, and center work such as learning a choreographed dance. Lyrical is a soft style that is often performed to music with lyrics so that the dancers can use expression and movement to tell a story.

Jr. Tap
(ages 6-10) Learn the fundamentals of tap! Classes will consist of a warmup, across the floor combinations, and center work such as learning a choreographed dance. This class is for beginning to intermediate students.

(ages 6-10) A newer dance form, modern dance uses breath, alignment, interpretation, and interaction with the floor to create a moving dance style.

Music Theatre Dance
(pre-requisite needed)
Music Theatre Dance Some Jazz experience required. Students will dance to a variety of music theatre songs and learn dance steps often used in music theatre while improving their performance skills by using expression and movement to tell a story. MT Dance includes a warm up, across the floor, and center combinations. Girls need tan character shoes and boys need black jazz shoes for this class.

Dress: Comfortable clothing, tan character shoes for girls and black jazz shoes for boys.

Must be concurrently enrolled in Intermediate Ballet. This class builds the strength and skill required to eventually dance en pointe.

(ages 16+) This is a beginning ballet class for adults. Whether you tried ballet as a kid or are completely new, join us to learn the basics and build strength.

Dress code: Leotard, tights, and dance skirt or slim fitting pants or shorts and a shirt. Ballet shoes are best but jazz shoes are acceptable.

Adult Tap
(ages 16+) This is a beginning/intermediate tap class for adults. Make rhythm with your feet! Tap is one of the most valued dances in Musical Theatre. Classes will often include a warmup, across the floor combinations, and center work such as learning a choreographed dance.
